What is HooperIQ?
HooperIQ is a basketball IQ score. A 3-minute test on real film gives you a number from 60 to 140, an archetype, and a rank. Your score goes up as you get smarter. It’s that simple.
People often describe HooperIQ as “the Duolingo of basketball.” Streaks, XP, levels, leaderboards. The difference is what’s being measured. Shooting has percentages. Athleticism has the combine. Comprehension had nothing. Until now.
Founded in 2025 by Marek Klassen, an 11-year professional player (Basketball Champions League, Eurocup, NBA G League). HooperIQ was an NBA Launchpad Finalist in 2025.

- A rating of how well a player reads the game. HooperIQ runs from 60 (novice) to 140 (elite), calculated from accuracy and speed of decisions on real film.

- Daily 5-minute HooperIQ challenges pause real clips at the decision point and force a read. Your score tracks progress across pick and roll, transition, help defense, spacing, and more.
- Who uses HooperIQ?
- Players, coaches, and programs, from grassroots to pro. Programs include PS43 by Pascal Siakam, EYBL teams, Jr. NBA, the CEBL (Vancouver Bandits), and Nike. Verified by NBA skills trainer Jordan Lawley, NBA coach Ryan Pannone, and pro player DJ Stephens.
